Katja Giese has acted as both an attorney and Of Counsel in the Munich office of KLIEMT.HR Lawyers since 2017. Before this, she was a member of the employment law team of a big international commercial law firm for five years and practised in Berlin, Munich, San Francisco and Palo Alto. She specialises in employment-law consultancy on complex and sometimes cross-border transformation and integration projects. She is highly valued above all as a negotiator in consultations with employees' representatives, in particular in the implementation of structural changes to establishments.
Katja Giese advises enterprises of all sectors on questions of employment law and represents them at court in matters of individual and collective employment law. She oversees compliance measures and advises on questions of discrimination law, of the Act to Promote Transparency of Pay Structures and of the use of external staff. With her additional LL.M. in US law, she is a tried and tested advisor of US clients and start-ups, which she assists in establishing employment-law best practice. She also has many years' experience in project management on the national and international level, for example in the cross-border harmonisation of terms of employment and in drafting employment contracts for corporate bodies.
Katja Giese regularly holds training sessions and in-house workshops on current and general employment- and labour-law topics. She is also the author of a large number of legal articles and a speaker on employment-law matters. She has been admitted to practice as an attorney since 2012 in the USA and since 2013 in Germany, and since 2016 she has been a Certified Employment Law Specialist. She completed her law studies and training in Berlin, Munich and the USA.
